Our next meeting is on Thursday 10th May then 14 June and 12 July. We hope that you will be able to join us between 2 - 2.45 in St Peter's Centre for Church Mice.
On a sunny March afternoon Church Mice met to think about the story of blind Bartimaeus.
After looking at some colourful pictures, we compared them with some black and white photocopies which led us to consider what it would be like if everything was black.
Although we couldn’t see when our eyes were closed we could still feel (children tried to identify objects in a feely bag), hear (children guessed which musical instrument was being played), and taste (a chocolate biscuit).
We thought about how Bartimaeus would have heard people talking and knew when Jesus was approaching. Despite the people telling him to be quiet, Jesus heard the shouts and responded by healing him. We learned that Jesus always listens to us when we talk to him.
Activities included making some decorative glasses (Specsavers watch this space), a stick puppet of Bartimaeus and textured pictures.
